Alpha-Stim

Alpha-Stim

Alpha-Stim treatments can be administered during a regular counseling session. The treatment is effective and is not disruptive to the counseling session. Clients are often surprised by how quickly they have experienced and noticed results. This treatment is available to anyone that would like to experience this added boost of calming and soothing.

The Alpha-Stim electrotherapy device works by transmitting a unique, patented electrical waveform to modulate the cells' signals to return to baseline, normal functioning—significantly reducing pain, anxiety, depression, or insomnia without medication.

Your brain naturally has electrical currents. The Alpha-Stim cranial electrotherapy stimulation (CES) device delivers a natural level of microcurrent, via small clips worn on your earlobes, through the brain to stimulate and modulate specific groups of nerve cells. The microcurrent is tiny, just millionths of an ampere, and so gentle that most people don’t even feel it. The patented Alpha-Stim waveform, application, and protocols result in significant anxiety relief, mood normalization, and better sleep (both in quality and duration).

Couples Counseling - Certified Imago Couples Therapist

Couples Counseling - Certified Imago Couples Therapist

Imago couples therapy teaches couples how to reconnect by using a new approach to communicating with one another, the Imago Dialog. This tool will offer couples opportunity to learn more about one another and will help them really feel heard by their partner.

Kat creates a safe environment for couples to bring their important issues and offers them a space to begin to feel like they are understood by their partner. Imago is for couples anywhere along their journey together; enrich an already strong relationship, or rebuild a relationship that feels broken and in need of healing.

Imago Couples Therapy is based on the book Getting the Love you Want by Harville Hendrix and his wife Helen LaKelley Hunt. It helps us begin to understand why we have fallen in love and what may have lead us to a place of conflict, so that we can work together to resolve it. Consider seeing your conflict as the opportunity for change trying to happen. Learn to have more compassion and empathy for one another while examining the areas your relationship where it is yearning to grow.

Imago Therapy has been featured on the Oprah Winfrey show seventeen times! I hope you will consider offering your relationship a new season of growth.

EMDR

EMDR

What is EMDR? EMDR stands for Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing. Developed by Francine Shapiro in the 1980's, this approach has been transformative in treating Post Traumatic Stress, Phobias, Negative beliefs and thoughts and many other places where the brain can get "stuck." Using bi-lateral stimulation, while the client is processing the negative belief or thought, allows the brain to move through the event and begin to see through a different perspective.

HSP Highly Sensitive Person Trait

HSP Highly Sensitive Person Trait

The Highly Sensitive Person Trait is not a clinical diagnosis, it is an identifier for sensitivity traits that are normal. HSP is often misunderstood, and because Kat has completed Elaine Aron's program on psychotherapy with HSP's, you can be assured she understands what you experience. If you are HSP or think you may be a Highly Sensitive Person, please read more at Elaine's website www.hsperson.com and take the HSP self test to learn more. Kat will be able to provide you the support you seek.

RRT - Rapid Resolution Therapy

RRT - Rapid Resolution Therapy

RRT (Rapid Resolution Therapy) is a unique treatment approach developed by Dr. Jon Connolly who established the Institute of Rapid Resolution Therapy in Florida. RRT is gentle and uses symbolic imagery and metaphors for emotional healing. RRT is generally a brief therapy that can achieve long lasting results. Kat has been training with the RRT Institute and has completed the Foundations Training (40 hours) and Advanced Training (30 hours) along with ongoing trainings and collaborative case reviews.

The majority of unwanted behaviors, thoughts, and emotions (anxiety, panic attacks, fear, apprehension, anger, negative self-talk) are driven by learning that has taken place while in an emotional state (terror, fear, or anger, etc.) according to recent neuroscience research.

According to recent neuroscience research, memory re-consolidation (which is conducted in the RRT process) is the only known form of therapy capable of eliminating unwanted emotional learning. You will still remember the experience in which the response was acquired and you will remember having had an emotional response, but the emotional response itself is no longer activated (Ecker, Ticic, & Hulley, 2012). Under the guidance of your Rapid Resolution Therapist, you will be stepped through the memory re-consolidation process.

You don't have to live with it.

Clear your mind. Change your world.
